19 km from The Yurts to Latchi Harbour via Skoulli and Polis.

Enjoy a fabulous ride along the Evretou Reservoir with panoramic views of the mountains and sea, passing through the center of Polis, an old campsite, and continuing along the shoreline to the picturesque Latchi Harbour.

A portion of the ride follows the B7 road between Skoulli village and Polis. There are plenty of places along the way to take a break and explore. For lunch in Polis, we recommend Cafe Kivotos 3000, and in Latchi, Restomare.

Don't forget your swimwear!

17 km from Polis to The Yurts via Steni village.

This ride mainly follows a paved road, culminating in a thrilling downhill at the end.

It starts near the Archaeological Museum in Polis and takes you through Steni village, where you can find a fantastic Museum of Village Life and a delicious eatery called Neromylos (Water Mill). After Steni, the road becomes steeper, but the views are breathtaking, giving you a great excuse to take breaks from time to time.

Next is the quaint village of Peristerona, featuring its Byzantine Museum and a couple of traditional coffee shops. The last uphill stretch is after the village, and then you can enjoy downhill  ride with sweeping vistas across the valley.

6 km from Forest & River Track

This easy ride follows the river upstream and winds through the valley. The track passes through a limestone quarry (quite an apocalyptic sight) and is mostly flat. At the end of the ride, you will encounter an intersection of rough forest roads, one of which has a "no entry" sign for vehicles. This marks the beginning of a deep, 2.5 km long gorge filled with natural beauty. The road there is not maintained and is dangerous due to its narrowness and steep drop on one side, so you may need to push your bike in some parts or leave it locked and camouflaged at the entrance to the "secret gorge." If you're quiet, you might spot Mouflon (a wild sheep) there. On the way back, this ride can be combined with a trip to Evretou Reservoir.

7 km Simou village loop

This short ride allows you to explore one of our closest villages. The suggested direction is "clockwise". Along the way, you will come across an old water mill, the Venetian Skarfos Bridge dating back to 1618, and beautiful olive and orange groves. From mid-January to the end of February, almond blossoms fill the fields with stunning white and pink flowers. Simou Village is home to about 200 people and features two tavernas:  The Tremythas of Simou and Rodia. Plus, there’s a cozy coffee shop run by Takis Mysty, where you might catch some locals playing cards or backgammon (tavli). On your way back, don’t forget to soak in the views of the reservoir and the sea!

5 km Sarama village loop

This brief ride offers a chance to discover the stunning beauty of our valley. We recommend starting in a "clockwise" direction; the first half of the trail is uphill, followed by a mostly downhill stretch. Take in the breathtaking views of the forest-covered mountains and rolling hills. Stroll through olive and almond groves, and you may even spot a herd of goats.

Sarama is a Turkish-Cypriot village that was abandoned in 1975, later reclaimed by local farmers for livestock use.

14 km round trip to the village of Lysos.

This delightful ride allows you to explore the upper parts of the valley while visiting Lysos village. The road winds through the abandoned Turkish-Cypriot villages of Sarama and Istinjo, featuring the church of Agios Charalambos and the cave where the saint once sought refuge, located just beyond Istinjo.

In Lysos village, you'll find a charming coffee shop and a lovely taverna, perfect for enjoying breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and the distant Akamas Peninsula mountains.

Additionally, the village center is home to the Panagia Chryseleousa church, dating back to the late 15th century.

On your return, relish a long downhill stretch that takes you through the villages of Meladeia and Filousa.

Recommended direction: anti-clockwise.

Round trip to Lysos.png

51 km round trip to coast via Agios Merkourios and Argaka.

Embark on a thrilling 51 km trip to the coast! This exciting journey will lead you through a scenic valley, stunning gorge, majestic mountains, lush forests, and down to the charming seaside village of Argaka.

Be prepared to dismount and push your bike through the gorge, as the forest track can be eroded and features a steep drop on the left without barriers—exercise caution.

The picnic area at Ayios Merkourios is perfect for a break, where you can enjoy the sounds of birds and a stream that runs through the grounds, complete with toilet facilities.

Most of the ride to the coast is a downhill dirt track. Argaka is the halfway point, featuring a delightful pizzeria called My Mamma Mia, where you can recharge your E-bike while enjoying your lunch. Note that you will have more than enough battery left for the return journey if you use the lower settings of the boost.

After leaving the coast, prepare for a lengthy uphill climb to Kinousa village, the last inhabited area before returning to The Yurts. Along the way, you'll encounter a toxic Red Lake, a remnant of a copper mine. Just before reaching Lysos village, don’t miss the beautiful 13th-century chapel of St. George nestled in the forest—feel free to stop for a visit.

A few more uphill sections will lead you to the final stretch of the ride, which mainly requires good brakes. Enjoy the adventure!

Recommended direction: anti-clockwise.
